In the “wake” of the police brutality in North America, well it’s not much of a “wake” because black people have been terrorized from the moment they were offloaded on stolen soil from the ships that stole them. From Slavery America to Racial Segregation America to modern day America - 2020 A.D. by the way this is known as the MAGA era - a particularly dangerous one for BLACK people and people of color. I separate black people from people of color intentionally because we are not the same, WE ARE NOT THE SAME, because you simply cannot draw too many parallels between two and “they” are above black in the food chain. Their skin may be browner than white but for the life of me they are not BLACK. Watching the assaults, the manslaughter and killings take place from the eyes of a Black South African hurts a little differently and it stings incredibly too, I say this because whenever I log on to social media and I see yet another black person being casually slain by white racist policemen ( the modern day Ku Klux Klan) and their allies, I can’t help but remember the gruesome, spine chilling, sickening images of apartheid South Africa, where black lives didn’t matter, black bodies were abused and brutalized, where the black human existence was less than that of a dog. You know what makes me uncomfortable and moves me to tears of rage? seeing a black mans shot in the stomach repeatedly for jogging - AHMAUD ARBERY. Watching a white woman call the cops on a black man and spewing false claims of harassment for being told to put her dog on a leash, NB that’s how EMMETT TILL died - the works of terrorist karens. Seeing a white policeman killing a black man by simply refusing to remove his knee from his neck as he screams "Please I Can't Breathe" - GEORGE FLOYD You know what make you white people angry? calling them racists and karens and saying BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!
